PLC program: *
We
can provide an Engineering Pack that includes the PLC
code, Display code (HMI) and Schematics (in AutoCAD format).
We require a signed copy of the license agreement before
we can ship your package. This Engineering Package is
required if a customer wants the password for the program
on a ControlLogix or CompactLogix machine.
Upgrade 486 Controls to Pentium:
Your
machine presently has an Intel 486 Processor in the CPU
card. Our current machines use a Pentium processor in
the CPU cards. The 486-processor boards are no longer
manufactured making replacements and service of this older
processor difficult. This cost includes the return to
Triangle of all replaced boards.
The existing
touchscreen is no longer manufactured making replacements
and service of this touchscreen difficult. The existing
pendant and cables are removed from the machine and replaced
with a new pendant with our newest style color touchscreen
and new cables. All electrical connections to the control
box are supplied. The programs are upgraded in the machine
to support the new touchscreen and new video driver chips
are installed into the solid state disk board.
Update Touchscreen within Control Box:
The
existing touchscreen and front panel is removed from the
machine and replaced with a new panel and our newest style
color touchscreen with new cables. The programs are upgraded
in the machine to support the new touchscreen and new
video driver chips are installed into the solid state
disk board.
New motherboard:
The
original motherboard in your machine has been redesigned
with all new artwork. Most of the hand wiring has been
replaced with artwork runs eliminating jumpers and simplifying
the design. As your motherboard ages the connections and
sockets can become less reliable. This new design would
update and replace your present motherboard and rack giving
better reliability to the System 21 electronics inside
your control box. An additional interface board and new
keyboard cable, if required, are included in the price
of the upgrade.
Conversion to Sick Eye photo registration: (see
fig 104 AG, AJ, AE)
The electric eye for photo registration can be updated
on drawbar machines to current standard Sick photo eye.
This eye that has the ability to pick up any color eyespot
on any color film.
Add photo registration to Belt Drive: (see fig 104 AL)
The Sick photo eye for photo registration can be added
to your belt drive machines. This eye has the ability
to pick up any color eyespot on any color film.
Conversion to Tri-Tronics Smart Eye photo registration:
The electric eye for photo registration can be updated
on B series belt drive machines to current Tri-Tronics
Smart Eye. This change includes the eye, fiber optic
and power cables, module (relay), new programs and schematic
to convert your machine.
Stepper controller update:
We have available a stepper controller update that replaces
these Superior Electronics controllers with our newest
Zeta stepper controllers. The Zeta is the same controller
that we currently ship on all new machines and has proven
itself to be very reliable, even in the most demanding
installations. The upgrade includes the required two controllers
pre-assembled with all supporting electrical hardware
onto an electric panel. Software and schematics as needed
are included. Note: You must be able to save and load
your program from the backup cartridge to be able to perform
this upgrade.
Fixed orifice upgrade:
The calibrated orifice upgrade replaces all (depending
on model, from 30 to 46) of your existing air cylinders
with new fixed-orifice fitted double-acting air cylinders.
Calibrated orifices are installed on the intake and exhaust
ports of each air cylinder to precisely meter airflow
and give consistent and sufficient, but not excessive,
door actuation speed.
Replace filter/regulator/lubricator for scale: (see photo, fig 172 AQ)
Over time, the existing F/R/L's can get gummed up.
This option is recommended if the Fixed Orifice Update
is installed. We estimate about 6 hours to remove and
reinstall the F/R/L's.
Replace vacuum filter assemblies for vacuum belts:
(see photo, fig 248 AS)
The
existing filter assembly for the belt brushes is difficult
to service. The new style filter is easily serviced, even
without tools. The replaceable element is larger and more
efficient. The filter bowl is clear giving a visual indicator
in addition to the vacuum gauge. The units are relocated
upward to a more accessible and viewable area near the
belts.
Add vacuum belt brushes: (see photo, fig 248 AT)
The vacuum belts can become dirty from exposure to film
debris and printing inks. The brushes reduce the time
between cleanings and help prevent build-up of debris
that reduces the efficiency and life of the vacuum belts.
Undersize
existing forming tube (only) with new spout:
Your existing forming tube does not allow enough clearance
to allow pre applied zip to pass through. Triangle can
provide a new undersized forming tube (only) for
use on your existing assembly that will allow more clearance
to run zip.
Complete
new forming tube assembly:
Your existing forming tube may not allow
enough clearance to allow pre applied zip to pass through.
Triangle can provide a complete new forming tube assembly
that will be correctly sized to allow more clearance.
Pneumatic backstop for zipper bags:
(fig 101 BD)
The fixed backup on your machine must be set so far
back from the forming tube for the zipper to pass that
it does not support the forming tube which reduces the
integrity of the back seal. Our pneumatic backstop assembly
will replace your present fixed backup and will add timed
support providing a better backseal on your bag.
Offset Roller Assembly (stripper roller): (see
A46063 drg)
We have available a roller assembly that will allow
the film drive motor to directly drive the film, yet not
be in contact with the film roll. It is used for heavy
film rolls, thin film, "stretchy" film, or "sticky"
film rolls that might otherwise turn back around on itself
and become entangled under the drive wheel.
Low Film Warning:
When the offset roller assembly is added, the low film
warning proximity sensor will no longer function due to
the motor sitting stationary on the stripper roller. If
required we can replace this proximity sensor with an
electric eye low film warning.
Positive Drive Transverse Zip Assembly Update:
(photos)
The
positive zip drive update allows the TZip assembly to
cycle independently of the bag registration. This
upgrade allows the machine to maintain significantly
better zipper placement and cutoff registration so the
jaws do not close on the zipper wasting product &
bags.
Weigh Cell Tester:
Triangle's weigh cell tester is a self-contained enclosure
containing analog boards, oscillator boards, power supplies
and readout meters plus weigh cell connection cables to
aid in troubleshooting and repairing of LVDT weigh cells.
Bellows covers: (see fig 164 AC / photos)
Update scale pneumatics: (see photo, fig 213 AR)
Presently, the scale has manifold banks of solenoids.
When a solenoid fails, the assembly has to be taken apart
to replace the failed solenoid. The new style manifolds
have plug-in solenoids that can be replaced in minutes,
instead of hours. The upgrade includes mounting brackets
and the necessary engineering. Because this upgrade will
eliminate all solenoid flow-controls, it is recommended
to concurrently install fixed orifice cylinders (see
Fixed orifice upgrade).
Locking
Pin replacement for spring plunger:
The spring plunger on the back seal arm
of B-series bag machines can prematurely release when
under pressure. Triangle can replace this spring plunger
with a locking pin to securely latch the back seal arm
yet allow it to be easily opened for service.
Update bag machine pneumatics: (see photo, fig 213 AS)
Currently,
the Mac valve is inconveniently mounted inside your bag
machine and, if one valve fails, the bank has to be taken
apart to replace the failed valve. Our new removable solenoids
can be changed in minutes instead of hours, and they are
mounted very accessibly just below the film roll on the
machine. At the time of installation, we would also install
a new larger filter/regulator/lubricator that is mounted
on the exterior of the machine on the left or right side
and update the six-position safety valve. This upgrade
virtually replaces all of the pneumatics inside the bag
machine.
Auxiliary Filter Assembly:
We
offer an auxiliary filter assembly that can be installed
in your pneumatic supply upstream from the Triangle equipment.
This assembly is desirable if your air supply has a lot
of contaminants and/or water. This will remove the brunt
of these contaminants before they reach the Triangle.
Heated Hole-Punch Jaws:
The heated hole-punch makes round or sombrero edge-sealed
punches in the header of the bag. It requires minimal
setup and maintenance and the punched-hole stays with
the bag. The controller accurately and consistently controls
the punch tip temperature.
New Jaws:
Triangle can quote options to provide different seal
faces, peelable seal, hole punch (see above) and zipper
seals. The price of these options depends upon machine
type, condition, bag style.
Static eliminator: (see fig 256 AG, photo)
The static eliminator will reduce the static charge
that causes product to stick to the film. This option
provides better seals.
Bag shaker: (see fig 110 AC, AD, AG, AL)
The bag shaker option helps to evenly settle product
below the jaws.
Pulsed dust exhaust: (see fig 171 AD)
The pulsed dust exhaust option helps eliminate fines
by drawing a vacuum on the form tube that momentarily
stops just before the jaws close.
Continuous dust exhaust: (see fig 171 AB)
Continuous dust exhaust performs similar to pulsed except
it continues to draw a vacuum through the whole bag cycle.
Update pneumatic safety switch:
(see photo, fig 254 AK)
This option would upgrade the pneumatic safety/service
switch to our current style.
Minarek film unwind upgrade:
This upgrade replaces the current film unwind circuit
with a more reliable circuit manufactured by Minarek.
This circuit interfaces the bag speed with the unwind
motor.
Air
conditioner:
Triangle's
air-conditioner upgrade is an electrically powered closed-looped
system. It uses a digital controller and comes in capacities
of 1200 BTUH or 1800 BTUH. Either top-mount or door-mount
units are available in jet black or stainless steel. Designed
to mount on top or on the door of your enclosure while
maintaining NEMA type 12 integrity.
Cabinet
Cooler: (photo needed)
Triangle
can provide an air-operated cabinet cooler which mounts
to the top of the cabinet and uses air to cool the interior
of the cabinet at the rate of 1000 BTU per hour (252 Kcal/hour).
The unit is thermostatically controlled and only activates
when the internal temperatures reach a preset level. The
unit measures 7.25" tall by 2.5" diameter making it easily
installable through a drilled hole in the top of most
control boxes.
Regenerative Line Dryer: (see fig 263 AA)
The regenerative line dryer removes all moisture by
continuously introducing very dry air into the scale enclosure.
It is imperative, even when the machine is shut down,
that the line dryer be left on. Therefore, the line dryer
must have its own dedicated supply of air and 120 volts.
Film
Roll Shafts:
Triangle has several different film roll
shafts available to meet every customer's needs. Our basic
style needs no tools and has an inexpensive replaceable
poly tube that grips the film core to the shaft. We also
carry a toolless hub that can be retrofitted to our standard
shaft. Also available is
our air shaft that uses an air gun to inflate internal
bellows and pads that in turn grip the core of the film.
We also carry 6" film roll shafts in addition to our 3"
film roll shafts.
Enclosure Heater:
We have available a silicone-enclosed thermostatically
controlled heater for the scale enclosures in Triangle
machines. This 2" x 12" heater, once installed, will help
to eliminate condensation and airline freeze in the scale
enclosure. It has a built-in thermostat that will automatically
turn the heater on at 40 degrees Fahrenheit and off at
60 degrees Fahrenheit. Along with the heater we provide
a schematic showing how to wire it in the machine.
Servo to Air Jaw conversion:
The air jaw conversion eliminates the electronic controller
and servo motor/gearbox and replaces them with the same
air-cylinder-operated jaw that we currently ship on all
new machines. This air-operated jaw has proven itself
to be very reliable, even in the most demanding installations.
The upgrade includes all parts needed to replace the servo
jaw control presently on your machine.
Vibrating spout: (see photo, FIG 109 AD)
An air operated vibrating assembly can be added to
most existing spouts. This assembly bolts to the spouts
and provides vibration to help prevent choking of product.
This assembly can be moved from spout to spout.
Grader Assembly: (FIG 220 AD)
The grader assembly reduces the height of the "wave"
in product infeeds and creates a better distribution of
product to the individual scale, reducing missed cycles
while increasing the machine performance.
Convert EXR weigh cells to EXR Standard:
(Fig 164 AC)
We have revised the 12.5 and 16 ounce weigh cells to
use our standard parts. All the weighing is now done electronically
within control box. Depending upon the machine, we can
convert the machine one weigh cell at a time while you
continue to run. We provide transition analog boards that
will allow either style of extended range weigh cell to
operate. You send your weigh cells one at a time to Triangle
for conversion and rebuild.
Auxiliary
Film Roll Stand: (photo, fig 107 BG)
Triangle
has available an auxiliary film roll stand. This assembly
allows a spare roll of film to be staged and, when needed,
easily and quickly rolled into place to expedite the changeover
of film rolls. The assembly includes quick-change air
shafts allowing the film roll shafts to be effortlessly
exchanged between film rolls.
Film Roll Extension: (A27406)
Triangle has available film roll extensions
to allow a roll of film to be more easily and with less
effort rolled into place to expedite the changeover of
film rolls. These extensions are attached to the film
cage and extend approximately one foot.
Film roll hoist assembly: (Fig 265 AA)
We
can provide an electric hoist assembly for your bag machine.
This hoist is used to assist the operator and can dramatically
reduce the effort required to replace a roll of film.
The frame support arm and pivot are of painted or stainless
steel construction. The electric hoist uses a standard
motor with a painted cover and chrome plated chain.
Product densifier:
A product densifer is installed just above the jaws
and helps settle product below the jaws; this would reduce
the percentage of jaw sensor failures (where product is
caught in the jaws). This device does not interrupt the
machine cycle, so it will not reduce the machine speed.
A further advantage is that some customers who are running
non-printed film see a reduction in the finished bag length
by as much as 4%-5%, or 1 inch on a 21-1/2 inch long bag.
Trap Gate: (FIG 257 AC)
A final bucket is installed on the machine below the
scale hopper and above the forming tube. Its purpose is
to reduce product separation between scale discharges
allowing better seals and potentially increased bags per
minute. Note: this addition requires a minimum of 14"
increase in height of machine; rewiring of the scale-to-control-box
electrical connections may also be required. This
bucket along with pneumatic and electric controls plus
updated programs may allow increased output and speed.
Trap Gate Spout:
A product arrestor bucket is integrated within the spout
above the forming tube. Its purpose is to reduce product
separation between scale discharges allowing better seals
and potentially increased bags per minute. This bucket
along with pneumatic and electric controls plus updated
programs may allow increased output and speed.
Conversion to Auto-Web Tracking: (see
fig 106 CD, BU)
The existing film tracking motor can be upgraded to
automatically sense the film edge and adjust the film
web from side to side using the tracking motor to correct
for film movement, providing a more consistent backseal.
This upgrade helps when running difficult films, reducing
downtime with less operator input. We would provide the
photo eyes, optic cables, modules, schematics and programming
to add this option to your machine.
Crumb Catcher / Product Stager:
The
crumb catcher reduces fines in the cross seals. The crumb
catcher mounts on top of the jaws and closes on the film
just prior to the jaw closing. This crumb catcher prohibits
product from being caught in the end seals.
Longer back seal bar with longer back sealer Teflon
for SB6 only:
Triangle
can often upgrade your machine to a new back seal bar
longer than original along with a matching back seal Teflon
assembly. These are replacement parts - not a new assembly.
Add back seal teflon and cooling assembly:
(see fig 114 AD)
Adding the back seal teflon and cooling
assembly to the back seal will help prevent film from
sticking to the hot back seal bar and will provide cooling
air to help the film "tack" together quickly providing
a strong, consistent back seal.
Choke Detect: (see FIG 257 AE)
A pair of detection eyes are added to the transition
area between the scale and bag machine. These eyes are
mounted where they can detect a choke condition between
the scale and the forming tube. Once these eyes are blocked
(choke condition) the included software change prevents
the scale from discharging any additional packages..
Add Clutch/Brake Sync: (see FIG 199 AA & AB, FIG 189 AA)
Parts/programming
needed to add clutch/brake to a drawbar bag machine, including
any required PC boards, relays, solenoid valves and miscellaneous
parts. This will allow a bag machine to synchronize with
another bag machine or cartoner or conveyor.
Bag support assembly: (Fig 121 AG)
The
bag support assembly is mounted beneath the sealing jaws.
This assembly supports the bag while the bottom seal is
cooling. This support allows more time for the seal to
cool so product weight does not pull the seal apart. This
assembly is most helpful when packaging heavier weights.
The bag support also helps produce better appearing seals
as it minimizes wrinkles. It also makes bag deflation
more effective.
Piece-Count Program Upgrade:
You are presently packaging your product by weight.
Triangle has available a program change that will allow
your machine to package by piece count. The program upgrade
counts individual pieces and through software, deposits
a precise number of pieces into the bag. To ensure
this programs effectiveness Triangle will require a minimum
of 200 individual piece weights either from a Quality
Control spreadsheet or actual product sent to Triangle
for evaluation and test.
Spanish/English Program Upgrade:
French/English Program Upgrade:
Dater Program Upgrade:
Increase
Tare Range (program change):
Programming
can be added to scale to increase the tare range. This
upgrade when running products that have a lot of tare;
e.g. frosty products, dusty products, sugar coated products,
etc. may reduce error messages and may reduce the need
to as often clean the scale. This program change can cause
weight accuracy problems due to excessive buildup of tare.
It also limits the weighing range as the buildup will
reduce the scales capacity to weigh.
Bagger only Program Upgrade:
Scale only Program Upgrade:
Dynamic Password Upgrade:
Cartoner Sync Program Upgrade:
We
add cartoner synchronization to your existing bag machine
to allow your bag machine to synchronize with a cartoner
or conveyor.
Metal Detect Sync Program Upgrade:
We
add metal detect synchronization to your existing bag
machine to allow your bag machine to synchronize with
a metal detector to make a double bag and stop the bag
machine.
Skip/Spot Skip/Seal & Multiple Discharge program
change:
To
run a much longer bag requires the machine to be able
to skip making a seal. This is done by changing the programs
within the machine to use the registration mark on the
bag to "skip" making a seal and cutting off the bag. This
provides the ability to make your desired "double length"
bag.
Bulk Pack Mode:
New
software allows multiple scale discharges to fulfill a
desired bulk package weight. This allows semi-automatic
operation for use with a footswitch; most often used to
fill a bulk pack.
Nitrogen
Gas Flush: (see Fig 242 AC)
To
add single gas flush capability to this machine
will require the addition of a single gas flush
assembly and either one gas supply tube for single injection
or two gas supply tubes for dual injection. Rework of
your existing forming tube assembly is required to allow
the addition of the gas tube (this rework is not included
in the upgrade) .
Add
Tray Gate Assembly to circular scale: (see
Fig 158 AS)
To
add a tray gate assembly to a circular scale would require
the addition of a new tray gate frame and mounting plus
individual tray gates (a total of 14 for a 14 head scale)
actuated by rotary actuators for each feeder tray. Solenoid
valves and printed circuit boards would be added to the
machine to control these actuators. The machine's programming
would be updated to provide control and precise timing
of the new tray gate assembly.
Bag Flipper:
This upgrade would provide a bag flipper that will flip
your bag so the back seal is facing down on the takeaway
conveyor. It will also, depending on machine speed, help
support the end seal after the product is dropped from
the scale, providing additional time for the end seal
to "set up".
Remote mount control boxes:
To
remotely locate your existing control boxes to a different
location will require changing the wiring connection between
the machine and the control box. A wiring harness will
be custom made per the length required (100 feet is usually
considered the maximum due to degradation of signals)
and the harness would be shipped to you for placement
into your new conduit runs.
Upgrade Vacuum Nozzles on Acceleron: (fig 248 AV)
The
originally designed vacuum nozzles used spring plungers
to maintain pressure against the vacuum belt and could
be difficult to adjust. The redesign nozzle uses an adjustment
screw, spring and knurled nut along with a pair of eccentric
cams to maintain parallel pressure and is much easier
to adjust, set and service. It holds settings better reducing
maintenance costs and increasing the life of the nozzle.
Change B32PR to B35PR (12" to 16" jaws):
(fig 116 BC, 134 AM, 135 AN)
Your
machine presently has 12" sealing jaws. We can upgrade
your machine to 16" jaws by changing the jaw block and
front and rear slide brackets.
Cull Point Intermediate Trays:
Triangle
can provide new intermediate trays for your machine to
allow the separation of fines from your product. The cull
point trays have a grated pass-through area that allows
the excess breading/fines to be diverted into a catch
pan (catch pan not included).
Film Pinch Plate Assembly: (see FIG 106 BL)
We have available a film pinch plate assembly that will
uses a spring-loaded drag plate to reduce film whip allowing
the film to track better and produce a better back seal
and finished bag.
Flush
mount belt pulleys:
The original vacuum belt shaft and pulley assemblies
on your machine can be updated to a new flush mount style.
These new shafts and pulleys are easier to service and
very simple to install. They do not use taper lock bushings
or spacers nor do they have any exposed threads. They
are self-tightening using left-hand and right-hand threads.
One left hand pulley and shaft and one right-hand
pulley and shaft are required per machine.
Mechanical Bag Spreader: (fig 145 AE and photo)
A mechanical bag spreader assembly is
installed just above the jaws and helps to reduce wrinkles
in the bag by gripping and spreading the bag just before
it is sealed.
Forming
Tube Curtains: (photo needed)
Forming
tube curtains can be added to bottom of your forming tube.
They are comprised of six supports which are welded to
the tube and clips that attach to the supports with urethane
curtains sandwiched between them. This curtain protects
the film from product which otherwise
might
puncture or tear the film.
Heated
Film Splice Table:
Our
new film splice table does not use splice tape, it seals
the film ends using a heating element that is automatically
actuated when the pivot bar is closed on the film. This
eliminates the problem of passing a taped splice through
the forming tube. Note: This table is designed to seal
poly film where the film can be sealed inside to outside.
If running supported film which can only be sealed inside
to inside the heated splice may not work.
Bag Stripper and Deflator: (FIG 141 CL)
We have available a sponge deflator/stripper which uses
an 8 x 4 sponge deflator along with an air cylinder to
push a lightweight bag off of either a hole punch die
or hot jaws. This assembly I configured for use on a B5
cello jaw (no spacer block needed for mounting under carrier).
The assembly has space for thermocouple wire routing.
It is primarily used for light weight bags that don't
want to separate themselves from heated hole punch or
hot jaws.
Easy-Open
Perforator Assembly:
Our
easy-open perforator upgrade provides double knife clevises
and a dual gripper bar assembly which, along with a perforator
knife, provides the parts necessary to make an easy-open
perforation on the bag. One additional perforator knifes
is included with each order (two total knives).
CM Drive Update:
The
Stober gear reducer on a CM machine can be updated to
an Alpha gear reducer. Both the gearbox and servo motor
are replaced along with a new drive frame, drive shaft
and couplings. The program on the machine is updated.
Convert from Optic to Proximity Sensor on CM: (FIG-104-BE)
The optic eyes that control jaw closing
on Continuous Motion machines can become degraded with
time. We can replace these optic eyes with proximity sensors.
Volumetric
Cup Filler Servo Controls: (FIG-219-AH)
The existing scotch drive, clutch/brake and gearmotor
are removed from the volumetric and replaced with a servo
controlled drive system. This option requires a SEL32
or AB control box or control box update.
Touch
Display Cover:
Touch displays on current equipment can be accidentally
damaged during cleanup. Triangle can provide a hinged
stainless steel and lexan cover which will allow the display
to be viewed at all times and easily lifted up on it's
hinge for complete access to the panel. When down the
cover protects the display.
